Brunei Darussalam - the abdode of peace

no wonderland without kings and queens - beside queen Alice - me is volume three.
I accessed Brunei by boat and took the bus to Bandar Seri Begawan. bright sun reflected on the cupolas made out of gold. Gentle wind. call of the Iman summons the men for prayer. swallows cutting the air. standing in front of the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque. breath taking. built to impress. and it works. Veiled and dressed I entered. his highness the sultan got his own golden escalator. yes, this is how I've imagined it. In spite of my veil - that really suits me - the guide tried to make his moves on me. Age - not married - that was all the information he needed to fall in love with me. Luckily I was adopted by an Indian\Canadian couple - I call it the Kaohsiung question: where are you from? - hm, you mean originally?!
I've learned that you need about 20 names to get engaged with a prince or king and it's quite difficult to eat rice with your fingers. the embassy of Germany is on the second floor of a shopping mall...
so far so good. have to catch my flight now. back to Kota Kinabalu. get the night bus to Sandakan. To be on time for the first feeding of the Orang-Utans in Sepilok tomorrow morning. Afterwards going to cruise the river for a couple of days.
the advice to buy leechsocks... hm.

island below the winds

started to work today. finally. country number six. a different world. (taking pictures is) much more challenging. the first days I was quite concerned about it. Since this morning I'm on my own. fell in my rhythm. working mood. focused. reality kicked me. I'm awake now. again. I needed this time in my snow dome made out of Taiwan. but today I realized how much I missed the challenge. I need it. on the limit my development is on the peak. If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is a compromise.
and perhaps I'm just writing a load of bullshit. but when I close my eyes I truly know that I've really tried. play my cards. got a bleeding nose. a broken heart. whatever.
tomorrow Brunei
now bed.

wild wind waves

"I could have greeted my dear Pacific with uncounted thanks, for now the long supplication of my youth was answered; that serene ocean rolled eastwards from me a thousand leagues of blue."
thought Ismael.

things are what they used to be

this january feeling. Is it escape-able?
have to try - get off.
So many thoughts in my head. need to move to find the melody. how to sing this song.
I consider things sittin' on a pink pony in the park.
so,...hm. If the black dolphins aren't on Penghu now. let's go to the east coast.
the train I'll catch tuesday morning will be the right one. no matter which one.
Don't know the were I'll sleep tomorrow night.
and -bing- this january day turns into a fair-random possibility. sweet.
